Dear Dick,
I will see why a report has not been send. I'm glad to hear that you are
doing well.
Yes, the lesion scar can have expanded to close the gap. We certainly
have also removed the triggers.
But the flutter may come one day. If it is the case, it is more likely
during the first year.
Regards.
Pierre

rhythm!!
Dear Dr Jais,
It is three months since my CA there.
I am still in NSR, with no signs of either AF or AT !!
I have felt no sensations indicating any arrhythmia (and I was
certainly symptomatic before -- but of course AF recurrence can be
"silent"). Neither my Freeze Framer computer program, nor my blood
pressure monitor nor my exercise heart monitor have indicated any
problems. (The Freeze Framer program's pulse wave image is
particularly sensitive. It clearly indicated my previous AF and AT
and occasionally shows PVCs that I am otherwise not aware of.)
I am hoping that it will be OK to go off Coumadin at this time. You
may remember that I have no Left Atrial Appendage. My CHADS score
would be somewhere between 0 and 1 on the basis of
sometimes-borderline blood pressure and perhaps my coronary artery
disease (which I do not think is currently considered to be a
significant factor).
Let me know what you think.
I realize that AF (or probably AT, as you said) could recur at any
time. I must admit that I was expecting it to have occurred before
this time, based on your telling me about the failure to make a
complete block in the isthmus lesion in the area of the Left Atrial
Appendage. I am curious as to why it hasn't: Could the lesion scar
expanded to close the gap? Could the other work you did removed the
possible triggers? Could the other work you did be "mazing off"
impulses that might be coming through the gap?
By the way, I have not received a report that describes my
procedure. As I mentioned in my previous request, a copy in French
would be fine.
I hope things are going well with you and Dr Haissaguerre.
I am very grateful for every day in NSR.
